Collaborative Science

I just read about Google Solve for X, and I found this talk about how technology will change knowledge creation, difficult problem solving and collaborative science. I had a similar idea about two years ago, to use an online platform disguised as a game, with characters, artifacts and quests, to solve complex problems. Of course, anybody who saw the Matrix films could come up with it. It is in the fabric of our age.

Just finished reading a book that’s exactly along the lines you’re thinking of: “Reinventing discovery: the new era of networked science” by Michael Nielsen. All about using technology tools to collaborate and open science up for more people to contribute.
